HAMBURG-SUD SERVES U.S. GULF/NORTH EUROPE BY TRANSSHIPMENT

HAMBURG-SUD SERVES U.S. GULF/NORTH EUROPE BY TRANSSHIPMENT

Hamburg-Sud, the parent company of Columbus Line,
Alianca and Transroll, confirmed that it is now serving the U.S. Gulf/Mexico/northern
Europe trade by transshipping containers over Caribbean ports.
Hamburg-Sud started the transshipment link several months ago,
effectively extending its north Europe/Caribbean/South America services to the U.S. Gulf.
Eastbound, containers are moved from New Orleans, Houston, Altamira and
Veracruz to Cristobal, Panama, where they are transshiped onto the West Coast of South
America/Caribbean/northern Europe "Eurosal" vessels of Hamburg-Sud and
vessel-sharing partners.
Westbound, the Eurosal ships discharge the boxes in Kingston, Jamaica,
where connecting vessels on-carry the cargoes to the U.S. and Mexican Gulf ports. The
service operates every 8 days.
Details of the transshipment service are posted on the ComPair Data
global shipping database at http://www.compairdata.com.
The service operates every 8 days.
Hamburg-Sud does not belong to the Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement
conference, but it is a member of the Europe/Caribbean/Central America/Mexico conference.
