Hanjin establishes own company in Australia
South Korea’s Hanjin Shipping has invested A$1 million ($766,309) to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Australia to “strengthen the organization and sales competency and improve overall profitability.”
Hanjin Shipping (Australia) PTY Ltd. will start full operations from January with a branch office in Sydney and sales offices in Melbourne and Brisbane.
Hanjin jointly operates two liner services in the Asia/Australia trade, handling more than 65,000 TEUs of import/export cargo each year.
“By operating the direct sales organization, Hanjin Shipping expects to promote its image in the region and grow the customer base as well as upgrade sales competency instead of relying on import cargo,” the Seoul-based carrier said.
