HANJIN, SINOTRANS SWITCH CHINESE CALLS ON ASIA/EUROPE LINK
Hanjin Shipping and Sinotrans Container Lines Co. will later this month replace westbound calls at Hong Kong with new westbound calls at Chiwan on their joint weekly Asia/Europe CEX service.
The vessel “Hanjin Elizabeth” will make the first call at Chiwan when it departs on Oct. 23.
Eastbound calls at Hong Kong will remain in the short term. However, a spokesman for Hanjin said that it also intends to replace the eastbound calls at Hong Kong with Chiwan calls when a series of five 4,350-TEU ships have been phased into the service, in about June 2002.
The revised port rotation for the CEX service will be Hamburg, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Chiwan, Singapore, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Felixstowe.
