HANJIN TAKES SPACE ON NEW SINOTRANS PACIFIC SERVICE
From August, Hanjin Shipping will start taking slots on the weekly transpacific China America Express service of Sinotrans Container Lines.
The arrangement will commence on August 13. The new CAS service began at the end of June and uses five ships of 2,526 TEUs capacity. The port rotation is Long Beach, Oakland, Huangpu, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Shanghai, Busan, Long Beach and Oakland.
Hanjin and Sinotrans already co-operate in the transpacific on the CAX service and in the Asia/Europe trade on the CEX service.
The proposed space charter agreement between Sinotrans and Shanghai Hai Hua Shipping Co. (HASCO) on the CAS service is still pending an investigation into the ocean carrier status of HASCO by the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission.
