Hapag-Lloyd cuts back North Europe/Mediterranean to fortnightly
Hapag-Lloyd Container Line is reducing the frequency of its North Europe/Mediterranean European Express Service from weekly to fortnightly.
At the same time Hapag-Lloyd is replacing southbound calls at Taranto with calls at Gioia Tauro and adding northbound calls to Salerno and Lisbon.
Effective April 23, the EEX service will deploy two vessels averaging 1,367 TEUs and will have a revised port rotation of Hamburg, Thamesport, Antwerp, Lisbon, Gioia Tauro, Istanbul, Thessaloniki, Izmir, Salerno, Lisbon and back to Hamburg.
Hapag-Lloyd said the “EEX” service will return to a weekly frequency in the second half of the year.
