Hapag-Lloyd group names Kranich head of finance
The Hapag-Lloyd group has appointed Ulrich Kranich, managing director of Hapag-Lloyd Container Line, as head of finance. The group’s supervisory board said it has granted Kranich with general signatory authority.
Kranich replaces Joachim Eilert, former executive board member of Hapag-Lloyd in charge of the financial department, who left the company April 30 to take on new responsibilities at parent company TUI AG.
In May, Hapag-Lloyd said it would eliminate up to 40 management positions within three years and trim its executive board from three to two members, as part of a reorganization linked to the sale of its non-shipping activities and the duplications of positions with TUI.
Kranich has worked at Hapag-Lloyd since 1975, and was made managing director of Hapag-Lloyd Container Line in 1997.
