HAPAG TO TAKE U.S./SPAIN SLOTS FROM MAERSK SEALAND
Hapag-Lloyd Container Line will introduce additional transatlantic shipping connections under a slot-charter agreement with Maersk Sealand.
The two carriers have filed the “Maersk Sealand/Hapag-Lloyd Mediterranean U.S. East Coast Slot Charter Agreement” with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission.
Subject to regulatory approval, the agreement will allow Maersk Sealand to charter space to Hapag-Lloyd in the trade between the U.S. Atlantic Coast and ports in Spain in the Algeciras-Cadiz range.
