Hickler to lead DHL in U.S.
Express package delivery and logistics company DHL said it has promoted Hans Hickler to succeed John Mullen as chief executive officer of DHL Express in the United States.
DHL’s parent company Deutsche Post last week named Mullen to head DHL Express’ operations around the world and sit on the Deutsche Post board as part of a management restructuring.
Hickler joined DHL Express in 2004 as executive vice president strategy and business implementation for the U.S. region. He has been in charge of resolving customer service issues at DHL as the logistics integrator experiences growing pains in the U.S. market.
Hickler previously was CEO of APL Logistics, the Oakland-based logistics arm of container line APL. Hickler worked for the APL group for more than 20 years.
