Hong Kong still reviewing site of future CT10 port expansion
Hong Kong's Economic Development and Labor Bureau said Tuesday that no decision has been made on the location of the future container terminal 10 (CT10) development.
The long-term planning study for the port has recommended building the terminal either at Northwest Lantau or at Southwest Tsing Yi in Hong Kong, and both options are still being reviewed, a government spokesperson said. The government will carry out an environmental study about using Northwest Lantau for this development.
A draft summary of a study concerning the Hong Kong “port master plan 2020” was made available for public consultation.
“While the public consultation period closed on Feb. 28, we remain open to views and suggestions from members of the public,” the government said in a statement.
The government also said timing of the development of the terminal is still subject to a future update of the port’s cargo forecast.
