IATA reports slowdown in July air freight growth
Statistics compiled by Geneva-based International Air Transport Association show worldwide air freight traffic continued to grow below trend in July, with a 2.2-percent year-on-year increase in freight-ton kilometers.
The marginal increase in July brought the average growth in January-July worldwide traffic to 3.5 percent.
Compared to the same month a year ago, air freight traffic in July declined in North America by 0.7 percent, when measured in freight-ton kilometers. For January-July, growth in freight traffic in North America was flat.
