IES releases four new logistics management applications
IES Ltd., a provider of technology to handle imports and exports, has released four software applications to manage transportation logistics.
The company's new Event Manager application sends e-mail or fax notifications of changed events, such as an arrival date, to any interested party. After being notified, IES clients and their customers can access details of a particular shipment file online in IES's web tracking system.
IES Exception Manager, monitors all shipment files to identify those failing to meet expectations. These unexpected events, such as shipments delivered two days after their estimated date of arrival, appear on one screen to expedite simultaneously a resolution of the exception and updating a bill of lading. A feature called 'calendar advancing' allows users to address upcoming exceptions.
IES Document Distribution Manager controls the printing, faxing and e-mailing of documents. Four restriction levels allow managers to send warnings, send 'response required' warnings, protect passwords or prohibit distribution.
IES Statistics creates custom spreadsheets and cross tabulations using pull-down menus. All data is pre-calculated, 'so reports are generated swiftly. Any shipment or booking statistic can be extracted without advanced knowledge of statistical analysis or spreadsheet applications,' IES said in a statement.
