Inchcape, Thoresen merge Thai agency operations
The shipping agency group Inchcape Shipping Services and the agency division of the Thoresen group will merge their agency operations in Thailand on Oct. 1.
The combined business will trade under the name of ISS Thoresen Agencies Ltd.
Inchcape said that the partnership would combined Inchcape’s strength in the tanker sector with Thoresen’s strong presence in dry and bulk shipping. The merged operations will have over 100 staff with offices in Bangkok, Sri Racha, Map Ta Phut, Phuket and Songkhla. All staff from both organizations will be transferred to the new company, under the existing management team from Thoresen Thai Agencies plc.
