INDIA PAKISTAN BANGLADESH CEYLON CONFERENCES DROPS WAR RISK SURCHARGE
Member lines of the India Pakistan Bangladesh Ceylon Conferences eliminated their war risk surcharge for India on Wednesday.
The surcharge for Pakistan remains $25 per TEU, and surcharges introduced by local feeder operators serving ports in India and Pakistan will be retained.
The IPBCC lines said insurance underwriters have reduced premia for vessels serving the Indian ports, but not for Pakistan.
Conference members are AWS (Ellerman), Bangladesh Shipping, Ceylon Shipping, CMA CGM, Contship Containerlines, Evergreen Marine, Hapag Lloyd, 'K' Line, A.P. Moller-Maersk Sealand, Malaysia International Shipping, Pakistan National Shipping Corp., P&O Nedlloyd, Rickmers Linie, Safmarine, Shipping Corp. of India, United Arab Shipping Co., Yang Ming Line, and Zim Israel Navigation.
