INDUSTRIAL MARITIME CARRIERS INTRODUCES BUNKER CHARGES

   Industrial Maritime Carriers (USA) and Industrial
Maritime Carriers (Bahamas), the project and breakbulk cargo carriers, said that they will
introduce a bunker surcharge on all their services, effective Nov. 1.
    Between North and South America and the Caribbean, the surcharge will
be $2.75 per freight ton for breakbulk cargo, $30 per 20-foot container and $60 per
40-foot container.
    In the transpacific trade, the charge will amount to $3.50 per freight
ton for breakbulk cargo, $35 per 20-foot box and $70 per 40-footer.
Intermarine, the managing agent for Industrial Maritime Carriers, said that the cost of
fuel has more than doubled in the past six months.
