Ingersoll-Rand gives more parts distribution to APL Logistics
Ingersoll-Rand, a manufacturer of industrial components, has contracted with APL Logistics, based in Oakland, Calif., to handle more of Ingersoll-Rand’s distribution network.
For six years, APL Logistics has operated a global aftermarket parts distribution program for Bobcat, a division of Ingersoll-Rand based in West Fargo, North Dakota.
As a result of the new contract, “the inventory of parts we handle will jump by nearly 75 percent, from 55,000 stock-keeping units (SKUs) to 95,000. We’ll be shipping to approximately 1,000 affiliated Ingersoll-Rand dealerships in 75 countries,” said Hans Hickler, chief executive officer of APL Logistics.
