Intercontainer, Transfracht cooperate between German seaports, Hungary

European intermodal operators, Basel, Switzerland-based Intercontainer-Interfrigo and TFG Transfracht, located in Frankfurt, Germany, will from today cooperate in combined transport between German seaports and Hungary.

The cooperation will see Intercontainer join Transfracht’s AlbatrosExpress system between Hamburg and Bremerhaven to Nuremberg where the containers will be reloaded onto the Intercontainer block trains for transport via its hub in Sopron, located near the Hungary/Austria border, and on to other locations in Hungary, the Balkan states and Turkey. The cooperation extends to traffic moving in the opposite direction.

Current Intercontainer trains from German seaports to Sopron will be discontinued although remaining Germany/Hungary services are not affected, the Swiss company said.
