INTTRA WILL OPEN OFFICE IN HONG KONG
INTTRA, the ocean carrier-backed company working on the development of a common Internet shipping portal, will open an office in Hong Kong in January to serve local customers.
The office will handle questions from customers and participating ocean carriers about practical and technological aspects of the portal.
INTTRA has appointed Joe Chang, a former logistics executive, as regional head for the company in Asia.
INTTRA aims to start operations of its international shipping portal early next year. The founding members of INTTRA are Maersk Sealand, P&O Nedlloyd, Mediterranean Shipping Co., CMA CGM and Hamburg-Sud.
P&O Nedlloyd said on Monday that INTTRA is talking to several Asian carriers about their participation in the portal.
