ITC TO STUDY IMPACT OF U.S.-SOUTHERN AFRICAN CUSTOMS UNION TRADE PACT
The U.S. International Trade Commission said it will study the economic impact of providing duty-free treatment to imports from the Southern African Customs Union.
The study, which was requested by the U.S. Trade Representative, will also provide advice on the probable economic effect of eliminating tariffs on certain agricultural imports from Southern African region.
The agency will hold a public hearing for the study at its Washington headquarters on Jan. 28. For more information, contact the ITC at (202) 205-1806.
The ITC said it would complete its study for the USTR by April 7.
