Jacksonville roundtable to focus on growing Asia trade

   The Jacksonville-based First Coast Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals will examine the impacts of growing trade with Asia at its Oct. 11 meeting.

   The Port of Jacksonville, known as a primary U.S. gateway for the Puerto Rico trade and for its auto carrier capabilities, recently signed a 30-year terminal lease with Japan's Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, which is expected to dramatically increase the port's trade from the Far East.

   Roy Schleicher, the port authority's senior director of trade development, marketing and customer service, who will speak at the luncheon about the impact on the Mitsui agreement on Northeast Florida.
