Japan’s “K” Line has added Galveston as a direct call port on its twice-monthly Mexico/U.S./Europe/Mediterranean Car Carrier Service.

The “Hercules Highway” made the first sailing from Galveston when it departed on March 1. The service uses four roll-on/roll-off ships with between 4,211 and 4,925 vehicle capacity.

“K” Line loads general cargo as well as vehicles on this service.

The revised port rotation for the service is Altamira, Mexico; Veracruz, Mexico; Galveston, Texas; Savannah, Ga.; Baltimore, Md.; Zeebrugge; Santander; Vigo; Savona; Piraeus; Ashdod; Leghorn; Barcelona; Zeebrugge; Altamira; Veracruz; Galveston; Savannah and Baltimore. Any cargo accepted in New York (Newark) is then trucked to Baltimore for loading.
