“K” LINE EXPANDS INTRA-ASIA CAR-CARRIER SERVICES

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha is expanding its intra-Asia car-carrier service with the introduction of two new 1,800-unit pure-car-truck-carrier vessels.

“K” Line is starting a Japan/Asia service this month. Both new car carriers will be phased into this service route.

The shipping group will combine the Japan/Asia service with its existing intra-Asia service, provided by two roll-on/roll-off ships.

“K” Line also said that it will network this new Asian service with its established trunk car-carrier routes, namely to Europe, the Americas, Australia and the Middle and Near East.

The new Japan/Asia service will call at ports in Japan, with the main loading ports being Osaka, Nagoya and Yokohama. Other Asian ports of call will include Keelung, Hong Kong, Huangpu, Manila, Muara, Singapore, Port Kelang, Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh.
