áôKö LINE INTRODUCES CONTAINER STOWAGE SYSTEM
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) said Wednesday it has developed “Van-Pro,” a computerized system that facilitates the mapping out of a stowage plan for loading cargo into a marine container.
“Van-Pro” shows a possible stowage plan in two-dimension and three-dimension views, transmits stowage data between personal computers on which the system has been installed, and plans stowage of dry, flat-rack and open-top containers.
The new system also figures out the necessary number of lashings required for a container, through simulations using data of a vessel’s pitching and rolling. It also calculates the container’s cargo load to each axis of each wheel of a chassis at the time of loading.
