“K” LINE INTRODUCES NEW 5,500 TEU SHIP AND NINGBO TO ASIA/EUROPE SERVICE
Later this month Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. is adding a westbound call at Ningbo to its weekly Japan Express service in conjunction with alliance partners China Ocean Shipping Co. and Yangming Marine.
The first sailing at the Chinese port will be made by the new 5,500 TEU vessel “Golden Gate Bridge” on Sept. 24.
The “Golden Gate Bridge” is the first from a series of eight 5,500 TEU vessels entering the JES service.
Once all eight new vessels are deployed on the service the Asia/Europe market will see an extra 88,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity.
The revised rotation for the JES service is Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Le Havre, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, Ningbo, Yantian, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven and Le Havre.
CMA CGM and Hanjin Shipping also take space on the service.
