“K” LINE ORDERS 8 SHIPS OF 5,500-TEU
"K" Line has ordered eight containerships of
5,500-TEU capacity.
The vessels will be delivered between the middle of the year 2001 and the
middle of 2002.
Three of the vessels will be built by the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard
in Korea and three by the Imabari Shipbuilding yard in Japan.
The eight vessels will be the largest ships operated by "K" Line.
"K" Line said that the 25-knot ships will will be deployed on its Asia/Europe
service.
