“K” LINE SETS UP CONTAINER SALES SUBSIDIARY IN JAPAN

Tokyo-based “K” Line is setting up a separate company responsible for container shipping sales in Japan that will begin operations on Oct. 1.

“K” Line (Japan) Ltd. will take over the sales activities in Japan of the group’s containership business from the “K” Line group. It will deal with Japan-loaded and-discharged cargo, as well as outside-Japan cargo that is handled by customers in Japan.

“K” Line said that    “K” Line (Japan) aims to create a group of specialists dedicated to international marine transportation service, “rooted tightly and deeply” to the needs of customers in the market. It will also seek to speed up decision-making and responses to customer requirements.

At the start-up stage, almost all “K” Line (Japan) staff will be composed of individuals from “K” Line.

“K” Line indicated that it will also replace its own sales and customer service staff in several locations in Japan by outside agents.
