“K” LINE SETS UP GLOBAL IT ARM IN UNITED STATES
The Japanese shipping and logistics group “K” Line has set up an information technology subsidiary company in Richmond, Va. to provide support services to the group globally.
“K” Line Global Systems, Inc. has been established to support and enhance “K” Line and its group companies' global business operation (such as the containership business and the total logistics services) “more efficiently by having its location in the IT-advanced USA,” “K” Line said.
The initiative forms part of the group’s three-year management plan, which aims to strengthen the company's overall organization through profitable use of IT.
“K” Line Global Systems will set IT strategies and plans on a global basis, and execute them by coordinating and supervising concerned parties worldwide. As a result, the information system group in Tokyo of the Japanese-based group will now concentrate on corporate IT strategy and planning.
