ôKö LINE STARTS NEW ASIAN SERVICE AT PORT OF SAVANNAH
Japanese ocean carrier “K” Line made its first call at the Georgia Ports Authority's port of Savannah with a new service connecting the South Atlantic port with the Far East.
New 'K' Line vessel 'Delaware Bridge' arrived at the port last week under the new joint service of China Ocean Shipping Co., Yang Ming of Taiwan, Hanjin Shipping of South Korea, and 'K' Line.
The new service brings to 13 the number of all-water weekly services between the port and Asia.
In the first eight months of fiscal year 2003, the port of Savannah has handled more than one million TEUs, a 33.7-percent increase over the year-earlier period.
