Third-party logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has introduced its KN BatteryChain service, which it says offers an end-to-end solution for safe, reliable and efficient mass transportation and storage of lithium cells and batteries.
Swiss-based third-party logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has launched the industry’s first supply chain solution for the entire life cycle of lithium batteries, the company said Wednesday.
Dubbed KN BatteryChain, the end-to-end solution is designed to offer safe, reliable and efficient mass transportation as well as storage of lithium cells and batteries.
“The solution spans from transportation by sea, air, rail and road from the manufacturer to the assembly line to warehousing for production logistics and aftermarkets as well as returns of used and faulty batteries from dealers,” K + N said.
The solution is available for automotive, high-tech and industrial customers, whenever lithium battery logistics is required.
In the next five years, the electric car stock is expected to triple, which will boost the demand for transportation and storage of lithium-ion batteries, the company explained.
