KENT LINE EXPANDS SERVICES TO SOUTH AMERICA
Kent Line International Ltd. has expanded its services to breakbulk markets in Argentina and Brazil.
In July, Kent Line completed three sailings from South America.
“The strong market in forest product exports from the region has given us an opportunity to expand our business in South America,” said Graham Fraser, vice president and general manager for Kent Line.
Kent Line operates breakbulk services specializing in the carriage of forest products between ports in Canada and United States, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Central and South America. The carrier is a subsidiary of the Irving Group of Cos., based in New Brunswick, Canada.
“We are optimistic for our future in South America, and by coordinating this operation with our other, more established trades to North Europe, the Mediterranean and Caribbean, we see positive spin-off opportunities,” Fraser said. “In this respect, we are planning to develop any gaps in our services particularly in Southbound trades and are currently talking to a number of potential partners in Europe and North America.”
