Kinnock takes advisory role at BIMCO
The Baltic and International Maritime Council, an association of shipowners and vessel operators, has appointed former European commissioner Neil Kinnock as its advisor on European maritime affairs.
Kinnock, former leader of the British Labour Party and vice-president of the European Commission, took up his position as BIMCO’s EU liaison officer Jan. 1. His appointment would “assist BIMCO in its aim of positively engaging in the maritime policy debates in a constructive way and contribute to our own considerable body of knowledge, expertise and experience,” said BIMCO’s president C.C. Tung.
