Kleist, Evergreen advisor, dies at 86

   Robert D. Kleist, 86, a corporate adviser to Evergreen America Corp., died Oct. 4 in Los Angeles.

   Kleist also worked as director of marketing for the Port of Los Angeles, and before that, as vice president of Pacific Far East Line, a U.S.-flag steamship company. Born in Milwaukee, Kleist settled in southern California in 1947.

   A memorial service will be held Oct. 11, in the chapel of the Lake Avenue Congregational Church in Pasadena, Calif.

   Evergreen America is the North American agent for Evergreen, the Taiwan-based containership company.
