KLM CARGO TO RAISE RATES 5-10%

   KLM Cargo said it will raise rates by 5 to 10 percent on most European and Asia Pacific routes.

   “The increases will apply to most routes, but especially on outbound Europe to North America flights and outbound and inbound flights between Europe and the Asia Pacific region,” the carrier said.

   The increases will take effect in October, expect in the Netherlands, where they will take effect Sept. 1. KLM said increased demand has spurred the rate hike. In the carrier’s first quarter, cargo traffic increased 4 percent. Revenue increased 17 percent and yield rose 13 percent.
