KLM TO HIVE OFF GROUND-HANDLING SUBSIDIARY
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced a plan to sell its cargo ground-handling services subsidiary Cargo Service Center Holding BV to D.Logistics AG, of Germany.
The two companies have signed a letter of intent for the possible acquisition of Cargo Service Center by D.Logistics.
KLM said that Cargo Service Center’s business activities did not need to be continued as a KLM-owned enterprise. KLM Cargo, the company’s air freighting division, is Cargo Service Center’s biggest customer.
Cargo Service Center Holding BV, a wholly-owned KLM subsidiary, operates at 70 airports in 19 countries and handles more than 1.5 million tons of cargo annually, employing a 3,100-strong workforce.
