Korean Cargo to serve new Japan airport

Chubu International Airport in central Japan is scheduled to open Feb. 17 and Korean Air Cargo said it will begin weekly freighter service from Incheon International Airport the following day. Korean Air will operate a B747-400 flight every Friday.

The opening of the new airport is expected to speed deliveries from the Central region. Shipments were transported to Narita or Kansai airports for air cargo connections. The primary air cargo exports from the region, which accounts for a quarter of the nation’s air cargo exports, are electronics and auto parts.
