KUEHNE & NAGEL BUYS STAKE IN INTTRA PORTAL
Kuehne & Nagel International AG, the large Swizerland-based forwarding and logistics group, has bought an undisclosed stake in INTTRA, the container shipping electronic portal set up last year.
Kuehne & Nagel is the first forwarding and logistics company to invest in INTTRA, which was previously owned by six European-based shipping lines and their subsidiaries. No forwarding or logistics firm has invested in the rival portals GT Nexus and Cargosmart, to date.
Kuehne & Nagel recently selected INTTRA as its container shipping portal for full container load shipments.
INTTRA announced last week that it has managed more than 35,000 bookings and 60,000 containers since its system went live in July.
