L-3 tabs Ripp to head security and detection subsidiary
L-3 Communications said Tuesday Thomas Ripp has been appointed president of its security and detection systems subsidiary, effective Sept. 12, where he will succeed Allen Barber, who has been appointed group senior vice president of strategic planning within L-3’s sensors and simulation group.
Ripp, 47, was vice president of sensors and advanced packaging for the Dover Corp.’s Vectron International business, a manufacturer of frequency control products for the telecommunications, industrial, military and space markets. He has more than 25 years of general management, strategic planning and leadership experience.
Based in New York City, L-3 Communications is a provider of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, secure communications systems, aircraft modernization, training and government services and is a merchant supplier of a broad array of high technology products.
