Labor, human rights groups to protest CAFTA
A coalition of labor and human rights groups said they would protest the Bush administration’s final negotiations of the Central America Free Trade Agreement this week.
The coalition said CAFTA largely ignores improvements to workers’ rights and the environment. “The official CAFTA negotiators have ignored this civil society input,” the coalition said in a statement.
Some of the coalition’s members are the AFL-CIO, National Family Farm Coalition, Oxfam America, and World Vision.
