Landstar names Seaboard carrier of the year
Jacksonville-based Landstar Global Logistics has named Seaboard Marine its ocean carrier of the year for 2006.
The award was presented last week at Landstar's annual conference in Nashville. Landstar made the selection based on a survey of its independent agents that handle intermodal shipments. Criteria included on-time performance, equipment availability and condition, sales representation, technology support, and customer responsiveness.
The award was presented to Miami-based Seaboard's Mercy Lopez, who said: 'We are extremely pleased to have built a relationship with Landstar. They are one of the most innovative logistics organizations in our industry. Their approach to market development is targeted towards constantly finding cost-effective solutions. Seaboard is so proud to be recognized by a valued partner.'
