Lavin to head IATA’s Washington presence
Geneva-based International Air Transport Association (IATA) has appointed Douglas E. Lavin regional vice president for North America effective May 1.
Lavin joins IATA from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration where he is the assistant administrator for International Aviation.
Lavin will be based in Washington and take overall responsibility for following the legislative and regulatory process on issues ranging from safety, security, facilitation and environment to consumer protection, economic regulation, charges and taxes, IATA said.
Lavin replaces David O’Connor who will leave IATA in May.
