LLOYD TRIESTINO, EVERGREEN START EXTRA TRANSPACIFIC SERVICE

   Lloyd Triestino and Evergreen Line are launching an additional weekly joint transpacific service at the end of this month.

   The China Pacific Express service will call at the mainland Chinese ports of Shanghai and Ningbo, and the U.S. ports of Los Angeles and Oakland.

   The first call at Los Angeles is scheduled on Sept. 12, according to the Italian carrier’s Web site.

   The China/U.S. service will use five 1,810-TEU ships and add about 94,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity to the transpacific trade.

   Lloyd Triestino is a subsidiary of the Evergreen group.
