Long Beach traffic growth returns to double-digits in April
The port of Long Beach saw its container traffic growth return to double-digits with a 22.1 percent jump in April, following the marginal 4 percent growth seen in March.
In April, the total number of loaded and empty boxes that crossed the port’s docks increased to 538,501 TEUs, from 441,061 TEUs in April 2004.
Inbound loaded traffic was 210,093 TEUs, up 19.3 percent compared to April 2004. Outbound loaded box volume in April rose 34.8 percent to 107,609 TEUs, while empty container traffic increased 19.2 percent to 159,972 TEUs.
