Lufthansa cargo volume drops
Lufthansa Cargo transported 4.4 percent less freight and mail in the first nine months of this year compared with 2002 because of the weak global economy. Lufthansa Group, which will release financial results for the first three quarters on Nov. 12, said it achieved a combined passenger-cargo load factor of 69.2 percent, down 1.9 percent from the year earlier period.
Passenger traffic was up 1.4 percent to 33.5 million, but seat capacity grew at 2.8 rate.
