LUFTHANSA TO HELP DEVELOP VEGAS CARGO CENTER
MSANV, an international development consortium, has hired Lufthansa Consulting, a sister company of Lufthansa Cargo, to provide technical support of its plan to build a $400-million maintenance and cargo center at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
The planned 300,000-square-foot facility at McCarran will handle up to 200,000 tons of cargo per year, with growth anticipated to 500,000 tons in the next 10 years. Cold storage will be made available to meet the growing demand for fresh products being driven by the city’s hotels and casinos, MSANV said.
Lufthansa Consulting will offer support in airport master planning and design, aircraft heavy maintenance and international air cargo logistics, the company said.
