LYNDEN TO FORWARD MORE CARGO THROUGH CONTINENTAL
International air and ocean freight forwarder Lynden Air Freight Inc. said it has formed a marketing agreement with Continental Airlines' cargo division designed to give Lynden priority service in exchange for driving more volume to the airline.
Under the one-year partnership, which went into effect Jan. 1, Continental Cargo provides Lynden with reserved space on its planes, favored pricing, priority boarding and commit resources to improve electronic transactions between the companies.
Lynden, in turn, will treat Continental as a preferred carrier and book more blocks of space for its recurring as well as spot shipments for transatlantic, transpacific, Latin and South America lanes. It also commits to building U.S. domestic volumes.
In addition, the Seattle-based forwarder will give Continental the opportunity to jointly solicit new business and respond to customer rate quote requests.
Lynden Air Freight is a subsidiary of Lynden Inc., a conglomerate of 18 companies that provide multi-modal transportation, logistics and freight transportation services.
