Maersk, CP Ships to start eastbound pendulum service
Maersk Sealand said it will establish a vessel sharing agreement with CP Ships in the trade between Australasia, the U.S. East Coast and Europe.
Hapag-Lloyd and its sister company CP Ships announced in November that they were finalizing plans to start the service.
Maersk said that new pendulum service will use 11 high-reefer capacity vessels, which are currently used on the 'Eastabout' service.
Both the Eastabout and 'Westabout' loops will end in February due to P&O Nedlloyd’s integration with the Maersk brand.
