MAERSK, OTHER CARRIERS CUT ASIAN WAR RISK SURCHARGES
Maersk Hong Kong said that Maersk Sealand has reduced a war risk surcharge for all cargoes to and from Pakistan, effective June 24.
The lower level of the Asia/Pakistan war surcharge is $75 per 20-foot container or $150 per 40-foot box.
The member lines of the Informal Rate Agreement, of which Maersk Sealand is a member, are also lowering their “temporary additional risk surcharge” for Asia/Middle East shipments, effective June 24.
For cargoes between the Far East and Middle East excluding Iraq, the surcharge is now $75 per 20-foot container or $150 per 40-foot box. For shipment between the Far East ad Iraq, the surcharge is set at $300 per 20-foot container or $600 per 40-foot box.
