Maersk promotes Laungaard VP

   A.P. Moller-Maersk has promoted S'ren Jens Laungaard, a senior director, to vice president.

   Laungaard, 33, joined A.P. Moller in 1990 as a finance trainee and after graduating was posted in the line department (now Maersk Sealand). In 1996 he joined Ib Kruse’s secretariat and later Knud E. Stubkj'r’s secretariat, where he was promoted to general manager.

   From 1999 he worked with the purchase of Sea-Land in the line department until 2000. He then worked in Antwerp as Maersk Sealand line manager and in London to look after Europe corporate affairs, before returning to Maersk Sealand in Copenhagen in 2002. At the group’s headquarters, he was promoted to director, responsible for operations control and strategic planning of ports and land-based activities, and then to senior director.
