MAERSK SEALAND COMMENCES DIRECT NORTH CHINA/MED SERVICE
Maersk Sealand will start a direct container service between North China ports and the Mediterranean in mid-May.
A spokesman for the Danish carrier said that the direct service calling at the Bohai Rim ports of Dalian, Xingang and Qingdao will replace previous transhipment arrangements.
The “AE6” service will utilize nine Panamax ships of about 4,500-TEU capacity. It will bring to four the number of Maersk Sealand’s weekly services connecting Asia and Europe.
