Maersk Sealand drops ship on Med/Indian Subcontinent loop
Maersk Sealand has reduced the number of ships on its weekly Mediterranean/Middle East/Indian Subcontinent AE4 service from five to four.
The ports of Algeciras, Damietta, Muscat, Jeddah and eastbound calls at Port Said have been dropped from the service, while calls at Karachi in Pakistan have been added.
The AE4 service now uses four ships averaging 2,800 TEUs and has a revised port rotation of Gioia Tauro, Salalah, Jebel Ali, Karachi, Salalah, Port Said, and back to Gioia Tauro.
Maersk Sealand’s sister company Safmarine Container Lines takes space on the service.
Details of the revised service are available now on ComPair Data, the global liner-shipping database, at http://www.compairdata.com .
