Maersk Sealand, Safmarine add Europe/West Africa loop
Maersk Sealand and sister company Safmarine Container Lines have added a second loop to their weekly Europe/West Africa “Northern Range” service.
The “Northern Range” service will be renamed “Northern Range-Monrovia Loop” and drop calls at Nouakchott and Banjul. It will continue with three ships of about 1,100 TEUs and have a port rotation of Algeciras, Dakar, Conakry, Monrovia, Nouadhibou, Algeciras. The new “Northern Range-Loop 2” service will pick up the dropped calls at Nouakchott and Banjul and will use two ships averaging 1,423 TEUs and call Algeciras, Nouakchott, Banjul and back to Algeciras.
